Date and Time:
26 April 2015, from 8am
On the London Marathon route near Tower Hill

Join staff of World Land Trust (WLT) at Tower Hill on Sunday 26 April to cheer on Hedd Thomas as he runs the Virgin London Marathon to raise funds for the Trust.

The London Marathon is 26 miles, starting from Blackheath and finishing at The Mall, alongside St James’s Park.

So far Hedd has raised more than £600 towards his target of £1,500. He is WLT’s first ever London Marathon runner and he was selected by ballot in 2014.

As part of his marathon training schedule, Hedd completed the Anglesey Half Marathon on 1 March 2015 in a time of two hours and ten minutes. He said of the London Marathon: “It will probably be the toughest thing I've ever done in my life. But I've already started my training, and so far I’m enjoying the journey.”

Hedd is running for  WLT because he is determined to help protect the world’s threatened ecosystems, a cause that’s close to his heart. Money raised from the race will go towards WLT’s Action Fund, providing support to conservation projects that most urgently need it around the world.
